Enabling a charity to make a positive impact

Sustainable Sports Ltd is a new community interest company (CIC) which was set up to support the sporting community of Staffordshire by helping local clubs to have a more secure and sustainable future.

This not-for-profit organisation was founded by directors who have been involved in sports on many levels and are passionate about the role of grassroots sports in the building of communities that are stronger, happier, healthier and safer.

As a brand new venture, there was a challenge for SSL to raise awareness of its work. To help achieve this, the CIC supported its launch with a big giveaway of sports kit and equipment.

EBY was tasked with creating a new website where entry details for the giveaway could be captured.

As SSL is in its early days, it needed an initial web presence quickly, so that it could start building the awareness and recognition that will help it to grow over time.

EBY was asked to develop a new website for SSL that would serve the initial functional purpose of capturing entry details for the kit and equipment giveaway from social media.

The website was designed with scalability and growth in mind, so that it can develop in line with the organisation.

The new mobile-responsive, user-friendly website includes all the function and information needed to get SSL’s work underway, with the ability to easily add new features and to ultimately become a hub for SSL content.

Awareness is being raised about SSL and what it can offer community sports groups. More than £40,000 worth of sports and equipment was given away in response to the initial phase of the launch.

More than 20 clubs have been helped as a result to date, which will also help spread the word about SSL, its aims and ethos.

The work by EBY has also created a platform which can support future giveaways and help more clubs going forward.
