    App development

Apps are now a vital communication tool for businesses of all sizes.

Almost the entire UK population owns a mobile device, and it’s predicted that 95% (around 65million people) will be using a smartphone by 2025.

According to Ofcom’s 2021 Online Nation Report, 94% of the online adult population – 42.5million people – used apps on their smartphones or tablets that year. And in recent years, the UK has emerged as the most lucrative app market in Europe, with a nationwide revenue from app sales of an incredible £2.8bn.

Fancy a share of that market?

Statistics and research show that the apps market continues to grow. It has become an increasingly lucrative digital tool for all businesses and organisations, and not just the biggest brands.

A well-designed user-friendly app can help build strong relationships with a loyal base of customers. If someone has downloaded an app, they have already committed to engaging with that company.

Apps offer existing and potential customers easy and instant access to a business, whether for buying products and services, booking events or activities, or receiving information.

Businesses benefit from instant access to that engaged customer base for relationship building, promotions and to gather information about their audiences.

    How we can help

We build and design apps, taking care of the entire process from start to finish.

There isn’t a one size fits all approach to an app. We take time to understand exactly what our client wants to achieve and how an app will deliver on those goals. This ensures maximum return on investment.

Working closely with clients throughout the whole process, we’ll determine the necessary functionality and specification of the app and create a wireframe which sets out the journey the user will follow.

The success of an app relies in large part on how easy it is for the customer to use and navigate, so our apps are designed to maximise the user experience at every touch and swipe.

We’ll advise on IOS/Android native apps versus web-based apps and the advantages and limitations of each, so that together we can settle on the best solution.

We also host and manage apps, taking charge of all the technical behind-the-scenes stuff that needs to happen to ensure it remains visible, reliable and delivers return on investment.

Businesses grow and evolve over time, and apps need to do the same. It could be that it’s the success of the app that leads to growth in the business.

For example, an app we designed for JESIP is now being rolled out globally in several different languages.

The JESIP app allows personnel from different emergency services to quickly and easily access all the information they need to co-ordinate a successful multi-agency response at the scene of major incidents.

This app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times and we continue to add more functionality and languages as it evolves.

    Summary

Apps continue to increase in importance as more web traffic moves to mobile devices in general, and apps in particular. They are an excellent tool in a multi-channel campaign strategy, giving customers another route for finding and engaging with a business – one that is at their fingertips, always ready to open and interact with.

A well-designed app is a great way to stand out from the competition, attract more customers, generate more sales and grow.

We’ve been developing apps for more than 20 years and have experience and knowledge in all aspects of the process, including what works and what doesn’t.
